One of Meghan Markle's closest friends Kelly McKee Zajfen is expecting.
The Alliance of Moms co-founder, 45, announced the news on Instagram on Nov. 13, writing, "Sometimes… just sometimes… when you let light in through the broken pieces of your heart, love grows. 🌱 Baby boy coming this Spring. 💐 "
She added, "The path here wasn't easy, and yet love kept showing up in the smallest signs, the quietest moments, the light that refused to fade. This little soul is already so loved, a reminder that joy and grief can exist together… and that hope has a way of finding us again."

The news comes three years after McKee Zajfen and her husband, Julian, lost their son George to COVID-19 and viral meningitis when he was just 9.
On Nov. 4, 2025, McKee Zajfen celebrated George and his twin sister's 13th birthday with an emotional Instagram post.
"Lily…You, my sunshine girl, are growing into the most extraordinary young woman. Full of kindness, humor, and unbelievable strength. Watching you become YOU has been the greatest gift," she wrote."And yet, birthdays are always layered. As you step into another year, I can't help but imagine what it would look like to see Georgie by your side," McKee Zajfen continued. "Both of you entering your teenage years together, teasing each other, cheering each other on. I miss him in every breath, and I see him in so many parts of you. In your laughter, your empathy, your light. He is with you always. But today especially…He's helping you blow out all 13 candles."

In April 2024, McKee Zajfen penned a personal essay for PEOPLE, in which she opened up about the devastating aftermath of her son's death and how her friends continue to help her through it.
"I have learned that not one single human can carry it all for us, so allowing others in is imperative," she wrote. "Try not to expect people to understand it all. Even the people who share a similar loss. Not everyone will understand. That is the lonely part, I am afraid. So be brave in sharing."

McKee Zajfen has been outspoken about how her friendship with Meghan, 44, has been one of her key pillars of support over the past few years. During an Instagram Q&A in September 2025, she named the Duchess of Sussex one of her favorite accounts to follow, as well as one of her favorite people.
"I've actually known her for almost 20 years?" McKee Zajfen wrote. "She even came to my wedding (15 years ago!), and she's been the most amazing, nurturing, fun, loving human."
"She's been by my side, especially since Georgie died, and I cherish our friendship very much," she added.
To support their friend's family, Meghan and Prince Harry donated $5,000 to a GoFundMe set up in George's honor in the names of their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. They also attended the George Zajfen Tennis Tournament in Los Angeles last fall, an event honoring McKee Zajfen's late son and benefiting the Alliance for Children's Rights.
Following the event, McKee Zajfen praised the couple on Instagram, writing, "Harry and Meghan, you have been such a guiding light for our family, not just in the way you have shown up in friendship but how you have shown up through the incredible work The Archewell Foundation does every day. I'm in awe of your commitment to community and to friendship."

Another of Meghan's close friends, IT Cosmetics co-founder Jamie Kern Lima, also recently became a mom again. The 48-year-old entrepreneur welcomed her third child with husband Paulo Lima — a baby boy named Weston Win — and shared the news on Instagram. In her post, Lima revealed that Weston spent his first few days in the NICU, writing candidly about the emotional start to his life.
Meghan and Prince Harry have previously said they planned to have "two children maximum," as Harry told the late Dr. Jane Goodall in a September 2019 interview for British Vogue.
"When you bring a child into the world, you have to worry about the future," Harry said at the time. "If we don't make change, we don't have a future. It's as simple as that."
