Josh Jacobs to get full week of practice, game status to be determined

Jacobs was removed from the Commissioner Exempt list on Monday and head coach Matt LaFleur said that he will get a full week of practice in his return to active duty. LaFleur said that Jacobs's status for the game against the Lions is "to be determined" by how things go in practice. That's also the case with how much he'll play if he is active.

"We feel like he's in a pretty good spot," LaFleur said at his press conference. "He's been training, but he's missed the exposure to football."

LaFleur said Jacobs has been "engaged" with the team during his time on paid leave by attending meetings and doing conditioning work, which gives LaFleur hope that he can provide "a spark" to the league's least-productive ground attack.

"I think he's an elite-level back," LaFleur said. "He's certainly not going to hurt it."

Jacobs ran for 2,258 yards and 29 touchdowns over his first two seasons in Green Bay and the Packers would welcome that kind of jolt to their offense as soon as possible.
