Taking to Instagram, they shared their baby news with a super sweet video of Samie having an ultrasound scan, along with a cover snap of the pair showing off two positive pregnancy tests.
After uploading the special post, captioned simply with a single white heart emoji, Samie and Tyrique were quickly bombarded with congratulatory comments. Plenty of Love Island alumni shared their love following the unexpected announcement, with Villa icon Olivia Attwood writing, “Congratulations cherubs!!!!”
“OMFGGGGG,” wrote season 8 star Dami Hope, adding, “Congrats my family... I think I just shed a tear.”
Season 3 and All Stars legend Georgia Harrison penned, “I’m so excited for you to be a mumma.”
Season 10 winner Jess Harding chipped in to comment, “Ahhhhh mum & dad can’t even cope.”
Some fans admitted that they hadn’t anticipated the news of Samie and Tyrique’s pregnancy, as their baby announcement comes just months after they confirmed they were a couple with a major Instagram hard launch. Back in April, the couple sent followers into a spiral when they shared snaps from a romantic holiday to Morocco. Confirmation of their relationship shocked some fans, who pointed out that Samie had scooped the Love Island: All Stars crown alongside Ciaran Davies not long before.
After becoming the winning couple of the third installment of All Stars in February, the duo confirmed that the short-lived villa fling had ended, as Ciaran detailed how the connection had fizzled out.
Appearing on the Not My Bagg podcast, Ciaran—who originally appeared on season 11 of Love Island— explained that Samie became “very distant” during a trip to New York, shortly before the relationship officially hit the rocks.
“I felt like the energy wasn’t being matched. You know, I’d message her about 7, 8 o’clock, and I wouldn’t hear back. Then it’s the next day like 11 o’clock in the morning and I’ve still not heard back,” he told host Joe Baggs.
Tyrique later made clear that his newfound romance with Samie had nothing to do with him chasing “clout” and declared that Love Island voters should’ve picked “better winners.”
“Samie’s not even fully liked by the public. If I wanted to do it for clout or PR surely I’d go for someone that I know is very well liked. I don’t need to be in a PR relationship,” he added.
Despite a slightly jumbled start to their relationship, Samie and Tyrique look more loved up than ever and we can’t wait to see them become parents. Congrats!
